FSP members and Police clash outside Immigration Dept.

A tense situation prevailed at the Immigration and Emigration Department in Borella a short while ago following heated arguments and a clash between the police and Frontline Socialist Party (FSP) members, who were protesting there.
Police said some 200 FSP members had staged a protest demanding that dual citizenship be granted to FSP politburo member Kumar Gunaratnam, who was sentenced to a jail term of one year.
They said they managed to stop the protesters from entering the building.

He could if he would formerly applied, but he wants SL government to apply on his behalf. This is a part of these sorts of people. They do this annoyance and get publicity and then sympathy.

It is the state decision whether to give citizenship or not and it's not a decision of a political party. Again, all should keep in mind that law is above all of us.

You cannot compare CB Governor with this fellow Gunaratnam. If he wanted dual citizenship he could have applied. via DM Android App

At present, he is a Austalian Citizen not a SriLanka Citizen.
