Foreign Affairs and Development Assignments Minister Tilak Marapana will visit New Delhi, India from September 8 to 10, the Foreign Affairs Ministry said today.
This is the first overseas visit of the Minister after assuming office as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Minister Marapana is scheduled to meet Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on September 9 for discussions on a range of bilateral issues aimed at further strengthening the India-Sri Lanka partnership.
The Minister is scheduled to call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the same day.
Foreign Affairs Ministry Secretary Prasad Kariyawasam and M.A.K. Girihagama, the Senior Director General of the South Asia and SAARC Division of the Ministry will accompany the Minister.
