EC asks Prez to consult SC on election date

The Election Commission has requested for making a reference to the Supreme Court on the next election date , informed sources said. The Commission has requested Secretary to the President Dr. P. B. Jayasundara in this regard . President Gotabaya Rajapaksa is constitutionally authorized to make such references to the Supreme Court . The Election has been postponed at the moment . There is legal ambiguity in terms of the Parliamentary Elections Act and the Constitution regarding the declaration of the next date in the event of the elections being postponed for more than three months. At a time where innocent public are facing difficulties with the Corona outbreak, the Power starving leaders are wanting to secure majority! what a country. The economy is effected and the government want to spend a large amount of money for elections. At this stage even talking of an election shows how petty the so called leaders are. Almighty will deliver justice wait and see.
