President of Russia Vladimir Putin today said he was convinced that the further development of bilateral ties with Sri Lanka was in line with the strengthening of regional security and stability.
“I am convinced that the further development of the constructive bilateral dialogue and fruitful cooperation in various fields meets the fundamental interests of our people, and is in line with the strengthening of regional security and stability,” the Russian President said congratulating Sri Lanka on the Independence Day.
In a letter addressed to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, President Putin said:
“Dear Mr President,
Please accept my sincere congratulations on the occasion of your country’s national holiday - Independence Day. Russian- Sri Lankan relations are based on the good traditions of friendship and mutual respect. I wish you good health and success as well as peace and prosperity to all the citizens of Sri Lanka.”
