An employee attached to the Executive Canteen of Sri Lankan Parliament has fallen ill with high fever yesterday sending shock waves among everyone concerned.
Parliament’s media unit confirmed that the victim was hospitalised immediately by the medical unit of the House.
“The victim is boarded in Colombo though he is from Kegalle. However, he had come to Parliament from Kegalle in keeping with the roster. Employees in Parliament are summoned for work according to a roster as all workers are not called in because of the Pandemic situation. He has shown COVID-19 symptoms but his Rapid Antigen Test was found to be negative. However, he will be subjected to a PCR test as well. We are keeping our fingers crossed till the results of his PCR test comes in,” the media unit said. (Yohan Perera and Ajith Siriwardana)

Brandix did not care when their workers were affected. Why so much of concern when a worker in the "Executive Canteen" falls ill?
