A complaint has been made against an engineer attached to Parliament for disrespecting the Speaker's chair by sitting on it, informed sources said today.
According to the complaint, the engineer had occupied the speaker's chair while giving instructions to fellow workers.
The MP who submitted written complaint had urged Speaker KaruJayasuriya to advise the employee concerned to refrain from repeating this kind of behaviour and to make sure that it does not set a bad precedent. (Yohan Perera)

In our school days, we never sat on a chair of a teacher even after school hours. This was how we were growing up. One could say it a chair like other chairs, but there is a respect to the person for whom it is allocated.
