Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said in a New Year message, that the dawn of spring brought the flourish of nature and nourishes the human spirit, as we think about the ideas of cooperation and forgiveness.

“Sinhala and Tamil New Year is the foremost national festivity celebrated across the country in the splendour of spring. It provides the ideal setting to deepen relationships with each other and share our rich cultural heritage,” the Premier said in his message.

While wishing all Sri Lankans a joyful Sinhala and Tamil New Year that inspires the commitment to achieve sustained peace and prosperity, he said this New Year will be celebrated with traditional customs, to convey their importance to the next generation.

"This would ensure that future generations are proud of our traditions and our nation" the message stated.

Wasn't three years of peace and prosperity you and your merry swindlers, including the bank robbers and high-flyers achieved enough? Leave as soon as you can.

Ranil where is the transparency of the party you promised. Everything you say is the same. Wait and see what happens at the next provincial council election.

Every year the president, PM talk about Peace. They never ever take concrete action to bring about peace between the Sinhala and Tamils. The dogs keep barking the poor chariot pullers go on, sweat day and night. Go to the North and East and see how the unemployed suffer. When you come to N and E you are being given and shown rosy pictures. Establish jobs. Improve transport and tourism like improving the Palaly airport .
