Choose opposition leader through democratic means: Patali

Former Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka who supported presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa said that the UNP parliamentary group should be given the chance to select the opposition leader of parliament through a ballot.

Mr. Ranawaka told Daily Mirror that the MPs should be given the opportunity to select the opposition leader through democratic means.

He said the government should step down forthwith. (Kelum Bandara)
