The Supreme Court today fixed December 14 as the date to inquire into the Fundamental Rights petition filed by MP Udaya Gammanpila regarding his arrest by the Police Special Investigation Unit (SIU).
He was arrested on charges of using a fraudulent power-of-attorney to sell shares of an Australian company.
The respondents including the Director and the OIC of the SIU were noticed to appear in Court on December 14 by Chief Justice K. Sripavan and Judge Upali Abeyratne. (S.S.Selvanayagam)
