VRS and hire again. 1000 plus should be just fired, for incompetancy including the CEO.

Sri lanka cannot afford this airline anymore. Close it down.

    Better retire the airline.

For the shake of our nation please close down Srilankan Airlines once and for all. Let the government sell the routes to private airline. Had MR allow Emirates to manage our airline we would not have incurred such a huge loss. Past is past.

Well done, real practical approach to revitalize the national asset.

Why do we need a national airline? We can have one when we can afford it. Ghana now a wealthy country with newly found resources, did not have a national carrier since 2014. Only recently they have formed a national airline in partnership with Egypt air. If it is simply for pride, then we have to pay the price.

Will some bright spark propose to lease some A380's cause they are at an all time low going price (since everyone is dumping them) irrespective of whether we have passengers or not?

High pay and unnecessary benefits to the CEO's and directors is costing the NC of a net loss. It is a tradition to attach the unqualified political clans to a gravy train with plenty perks. Why do we have to pay the BOD and a dumb ass CEO for generating a net loss for the NC ? Put some QUALIFIED PERSONS TO OPERATE THE NC Effectively.
