Cabinet nod to implement recommendations of PCoI on political victimization

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal submitted by the President to submit the report of the Presidential Commission of inquiry to investigate incidents of political revenge to parliament and to implement the recommendations.

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa appointed a Presidential Commission of inquiry to investigate incidents of political revenge which are said to have happened to Public Officers, Employers of Government Cooperation, Members of the Armed Forces and Police Service between January 08, 2015 to November 16, 2019.

The report of the aforesaid commission has been handed over to the President.

Accordingly, the Cabinet granted the approval to take necessary steps to implement the recommendations of the report.
