Arresting the president's brother alone is a major achievement and a big step in the right direction. Never happened in the recent past. Hope that the correct procedure would follow.

This shows the uncivilised nature of Sri Lanka society. Being the President of Sri Lanka's brother he should have stopped his vehicle and taken to injured to hospital. What a disgrace. What can we expect from bus, van, three wheeler and gentleman (the one in tie) drivers.

He did the right thing, if he had stopped the by standers would have killed him, and burned the vehicle too.

If this had happened two years ago. A couple of defender loads of s...s would have arrived at the scene. President's Bro would be in another location. Someone else would be the driver, all those who witnessed would be missing.

A car driven by the former president's son knocked a 3Wheeler during broad daylight a few years ago in Narahenpita. However the security personnel quickly took away the car and the Presidential son. No statements, inquiries or cases against the offender.

So many compromises would have been worked out to free him and to neutralise the case in the court.

With the old regime even this news would not have come out! Breathe easy. The driver would have fled the scene for the fear of being assaulted.

If it is so and if our President allows the law enforcing officers to do their duty without any interference he will carve a niche in the hearts of the peace loving citizens of this beautiful country.

Just imagine if Gota did this he would have been treated in a different way. I congratulate MS for not intervening with law. This is what we need. I would like to hear some comments from Namal, Wimal, Udaya and Bandulla on this. Where are they????

How on earth we hear in this country that a brother of a President is remanded. Is this a dream?
Hautaum Sunday, 10 September 2017 04:01 PM
to wait for further development on this regards.

In a way it is to be appreciated that the President's brother has been remanded until tomorrow, the law is being applied irrespective of power and position. Let the public note that had this been under MR the whole thing would have been hushed up.
