An Australian maritime trawler aircraft will land at the Mattala International Airport on April 1, and stay overnight in transit to India for another activity, Australian High Commission’s Defence Advisor Sean Unwin said yesterday.
He told a news conference that this would provide the opportunity for them to engage with Sri Lankan Air Force and Navy on maritime surveillance issues.
Mr. Unwin said there would be a number of activities under Indo-Pacific Endeavor 2019(IPE 19).
There will be a ship visit to the Hambantota Port later. (Kelum Bandara)

It is a major news because Sri Lanka is an economically poor, non industrial third world “Island” which is additionally eclipsed by giant India which the British created from scores of tiny Muslim kingdoms .
