Aryurvedic drug for prevention of Covid -19 distributed

An Ayurvedic disinfectant used for prevention of Coronavirus and another used in the treatment of the deadly disease manufactured according to an ancient Ayurvedic formula was being distributed from today by the North Central Province Ayurvedic Department.

The programme was implemented under the supervision of the Aryurvedic practitioners in the Aryurvedic hospital and medical centres on the instructions of the Commissioner of Ayurveda (NCP) Dr.Kumara Alwis.

Dr. Alwis told the media that immunity to the disease could be promoted by taking the drug and the homes sterilized by burning the powder in a pan.(Atula Bandara and M.K.Nandasena)

Look at the history, both the Tamils and Sinhalese had great civilisations for hundreds of years before the invasions and religious conversions of South Asia by the European Militaries . During those golden years of civilisations who were successfully looking after the health of the people, it was the Ayurvedic Practitioners. Now, let’s be honest. People are dying in thousands in Hospitals around the world with CORVID-19 is because the doctors DO NOT HAVE THE ABILITY to sort out the infection, simple as that. Thus it is not the lack of logistics but the lack of Science on the part of the doctors that is killing the people almost nonstop since the outbreak. So now we have no other options other than going back to our historical traditions and encourage the great Ayurvedic Practice to step in immediately as an important medical practice for Corvid-19 in equal status with the “doctors” and save Sri Lanka before it is too late.

“Ancient Ayurvedic Formula“ does not imply that this formula IS effective today, unless it has been tested according to Accepted Scientific criteria. Hence, even a legally established govt. department should refrain from using or recommending such formulae or methods to the innocent general public without the approval of the head of the Department of Health Services, according to my honest personal opinion.

I am thrilled that Ayurvedic medicine can cure COVID 19 for the lack of immunity deficiency. I am a western medicine practitioner - MBBS India and retired now. Also, I am a Homeoppaths as well. I would like to join with the Ayurvedic campaign to fight for Corona 19, and help the infected people. I extend my congratulation to your effort.

Without disrespecting the Ayurveda, let me say this. I am a Sri Lankan qualified Doctor, that involves five long years of study to get MBBS ,and currently working in England as a specialist in respiratory medicine, which involves further five years of exams and training. We are dealing with COVID-19 in Britain and I know more about it than any Ayurveda worker, and I can say quite categorically that it is insane to bring in their treatment in Sri Lanka ,in the midst of this pandemic. Allow the Doctors who are the natural experts to do their job.

Under what medical conditions and research has this been proven to work? Did they administer this to several infected people without the use of any other drug and those people became cured? If we are going to call out the west when their people offer miracle cures pretending to cure COVID-19, then our people should be held to the same standard. Right now there is no cure for COVID-19. We will get one, just not yet. Stay home and avoid contact with others.
