Claiming that the atrocity against the Tamil Nadu fishermen came down by the effort of the Modi government, India’s BJP national president Amit Shah on Wednesday said that the arrested Indian fishermen are being released immediately by the Sri Lankan authorities, The Times of India reported.

"The talks for the permanent solution got underway with the Sri Lanka. What the change we made is that there is no shooting and attack on the fishermen now. The arrested fishermen are being released immediately," Shah told media in Trichy.

He says "atrocities came down". What are these atrocities? They are that we as a sovereign nation take steps to do our best to prevent poaching by fishermen of India, a foreign nation, affecting the livelihoods of our fishermen. Why is no one in India - absolutely no one - stating that what these Indian fishermen are doing is illegal?
