UPFA MP Roshan Ranasinghe yesterday said they have only applied for the membership of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) but they have not yet received the membership.
The issue of UPFA MP’s joining the SLPP arose in parliament early this week as several MP’s argued that MP’s who obtained the SLPP membership are ineligible to retain their parliament seats.
Responding to criticisms, MP Ranasinghe said they have submitted applications to obtain membership from the SLPP but the party's secretary and national organiser had not given them membership as yet.
"They accepted our applications but did not give the membership as yet. We were elected to parliament from the UPFA. From that day, we continue to pay Rs. 3,000 monthly as membership subscription fee to the SLFP. These fees have been deducted from our November salaries as well,” he told a news briefing. What this man says is that technically MR and clan cheated the general public by appearing in the media as formally accepting SLPP membership. We have taken note that they are again claiming positions based on untruth and deception. JVP will high light this come next elections. We will vote.

Ha Ha Ha! A nice fairy tale. When I apply for a national ID, I get a receipt as a reference to my application. When the process is complete, I am issued with the ID. All these BUD jokers proudly displayed their BUD membership card on social media. Now this. Makes me roll.

I am confused. When you applied to SLPP, it means you have left SLFP in spirit and flesh. So now why this "revert to base" story of we have not left. May be forgot to take all belongings, now coming back for more.

He applied, but until it formulated and inform him application accepted ,he is still member of UPFA, more general secretary too, certified they are still members of UPFA, so there is nothing to look in to
