All schools except for those in the Western Province and lockdown areas will be reopened on November 23, Education Minister G.L. Peiris said.
Education Minister G.L. Peiris said the schools will reopen only for students from Grades 06 – 13.
"Schools in the Western Province will not open on November 23 for the third term. Also, schools in isolated areas outside the Western Province will also not be reopened on Monday," he said. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)

Don't play with childrens lives opening schools is not recommended now since their is no proper action to bring down the covid cases best I'd to continue online as of now

I don't think opening the schools is a good decision. First let's all focus on controlling the spreading of virus. School is not compulsory now. Don't play with the health of the students...

As a parent I also do not think schools should be opened until the spread is controlled. This is not a good decision.

Very bad move...All leaders Prez, PM are over 70 how can they think straight..The education minister is even older..same goes for the 6.9 incl me who voted for them. We are all bloody fools......

Children tolerate covid-19 much better than adults. They rarely need hospitalization and almost no healthy child will die of covid-19. Therefore it's a good move to reopen schools. Also if more children get infected, the herd immunity will be achieved sooner and the pandemic will disappear
