All events, including weddings, would not be allowed for a period of two weeks from Monday (3 May), Army Commander Gen. Shavendra Silva said.
He told the Daily Mirror that the decision was taken considering the alarming increase in the number of Covid-19 cases.

Shavendra should be withdrawn and his position must be given to a Medical person. Shavendra will fight a war but not a decease. All this is mishandling by the government with wrong decisions

Please advise wedding parties to have the function only with close family members. The invitees will be in trouble if one guest is positive. Some people want to have wedding functions with a large crowd without thinking about the consequences.
