Yes very good suggestion and the pathology practicals and clinical trials could be arranged and hired to SAITM during Government MC holidays

    Hiran Tuesday, 07 February 2017 05:14 PM

Those international organisations that GMOA and SLMC are going to complain will have a special reason to look into this piece of news. These medical students should never register to practice, as they did not attend the lectures that would have provided them the skills and knowledge. They are low quality puppets

    sobers Tuesday, 07 February 2017 05:17 PM

Most of the students want to study but some them who have entered from remote areas through district basis are the culprits. Result of free education. let them strike.......sack them and get new students. They can't over rule the judiciary.

    Buwa Tuesday, 07 February 2017 05:21 PM

if they dont want to attend lectures, why don't the authority close it....anyway even after they be DR's they will have these sort of attitude and strikes.

    BV Tuesday, 07 February 2017 05:41 PM

O thank God the best news for the year. Thanks enjoy yourself at home.We prefer not to have you.

    Kadiya Tuesday, 07 February 2017 05:41 PM

Mekata thamai kiyanne illang kanawai kiyala. Hooooo, kaatada paadu?

    Yeti Tuesday, 07 February 2017 05:43 PM

They are cutting their own throats, that's what!!!

    Praba Tuesday, 07 February 2017 06:06 PM

Yes. Let SAITM students run hospitals as intern medicos. May all these media pundits save a paerson admitting with an emergency in a night

Sri Wickrema Tuesday, 07 February 2017 09:08 PM

It is high time that govt medical students payfor their MBBS.

    Goraka Wednesday, 08 February 2017 03:33 AM

Anything that is free is not valued by many.Privatize ALL universities and give discounts if you cannot afford.

    Mahila Wednesday, 08 February 2017 03:58 AM

Oh, No. Then the GOMA membership will dwindle. These FED's (free education Dostoras") should be given MBBS -1 qualification

    Mahila Wednesday, 08 February 2017 04:02 AM

Unfortunately, it is not high marks that is the entry to government medical college. Z score and which district you sit for the A/L exam

    rama Tuesday, 07 February 2017 05:11 PM

    Ayyo our Tax money

    Ruwan Wednesday, 08 February 2017 04:26 AM

Its okay for this sort of idiots not becoming our future doctors. Later on we will import doctors too. via DM Android App

    Ruwan Wednesday, 08 February 2017 05:14 AM

Enforce attendance requirements for every student please- I don't want to be treated by the doctor who missed the lecture on my disease!

Janaka Rajapaksha Wednesday, 08 February 2017 06:10 AM

Is there a point in doing this, after all SAITM will prevail while the society as whole, knowingly or unknowingly, perish?Under the current government, even if it was the previous government, given that politicians have been ruining the country and its systems for decades whilst people are expressing their SPECIALIST opinions here there and everywhere, institutions such as SAITM will continue to remain in operation regardless of the quality, standard, necessity or fairness.

Gal Martiya Wednesday, 08 February 2017 06:43 AM

We will send Gota to shoot the buggers

till box Drs Wednesday, 08 February 2017 07:25 AM

    Roshan Wednesday, 08 February 2017 08:54 AM

Why they do not oppose Private Hospitals and Doctors engage in private practice while serving in govt.hospitals.

    John Wednesday, 08 February 2017 08:56 AM

....yes studied, but did you LEARN?

    Ravi Wednesday, 08 February 2017 10:13 AM

It's a court ruling and the Goverment cannot intervene on a given judgment . The Goverment cannot and should never interfere with the Juditiary .

    prem Wednesday, 08 February 2017 11:26 AM

There was a time it took ten years to computer studies due strikes and boycotts. That will happen in the future too if they behave like this.saitam students will finish in time.

    observer Thursday, 09 February 2017 08:53 AM

Sri Lanka will be a better place, if those students never return. Applications can be called for vacancies according to UGC entry criteria. The Deans of SLMC are not capable of disciplining the students as they themselves violate the law. What a joke doctors have become through Z scores

    Rohan Tuesday, 07 February 2017 04:29 PM

Achieving high marks in exams should not be the only criteria when selecting medical students to be educated by the government (peoples) money.

    Sm00thcrimnal Tuesday, 07 February 2017 04:01 PM

Did they actually sit for any lectures?

    Raz Tuesday, 07 February 2017 04:00 PM

Very good ha ha ha started digging their own graves. continue doing this. via DM Android App

    Bandu Tuesday, 07 February 2017 04:03 PM

What brilliance. Now their education will be actually inferior to SAITM.

    gdj100 Tuesday, 07 February 2017 04:06 PM

Who's at the losing end of this move? Certainly not SAITM, the protesters are depriving themselves of rightful education by boycotting the lectures.

daily boru Tuesday, 07 February 2017 04:09 PM

Very good. Let them stay at home in the village. The Colombo children will attend the private unis and we will have some decent doctors etc.

    Dee Tuesday, 07 February 2017 04:13 PM

Great! So delay their graduation by a couple of years and absorb saitm doctors. This will upgrade the medical fraternity and also teach those 'pina' medical students a lesson.

    lkboy Tuesday, 07 February 2017 04:15 PM

Are they boycotting lectures or lecturers?

    Bala Tuesday, 07 February 2017 04:15 PM

So they are threatening the courts now. Now I regret I paid for their education so far thru taxes. No value to anything gven free to these students. Even freedom given easily is misused by them.

    Alston Tuesday, 07 February 2017 04:16 PM

Better they stop lectures for good and give the opportunity to some who have commonsense via DM Android App

    BuffaloaCitizen Tuesday, 07 February 2017 04:21 PM

The calamity of this country is when the educated do the most uneducated things, the professionals do the most unethical and unprofessional acts, the experienced and wise do the most obnoxious manipulations and not forgetting those arrogant millions of 3-wheeler drivers, bus drivers and utterly corrupt policemen, state service, judiciary and even the clergy.... oh Sri Lanka did this country bcome so nasty after independence?

    Sue Tuesday, 07 February 2017 04:26 PM

This is exactly why we need SAITM. These students will not have time to boycott lectures because they have to make use of the money they or their parents are paying for their education and a such will pass out with the determination to serve and earn the monies spent.

    pradeep Tuesday, 07 February 2017 03:51 PM

That is OK, than putting patient at risk doing strike by doctors.

    Sanath Tuesday, 07 February 2017 04:30 PM

These guys are wasting valuable time that could be spent for their education.

    Greek Tuesday, 07 February 2017 04:38 PM

Medicos, your behaviour shows what you have studied for all these years. During the boycott period please take time to read well the oath Doctors take.

    Henry Tuesday, 07 February 2017 04:39 PM

govt can spend tax payers money on more income generating investments.Good move by iusf.hon minister take disciplinary action things are really going out of control .freedom of the wild ass via DM Android App

Lord Wolfstein Tuesday, 07 February 2017 04:40 PM

These jealous and politicized students who study with our tax money should be immediately expelled from the universities to make room for students who want to learn and appreciate the value of such a study. Any normal worker who is denied the work is immediately dismissed.

    PMS Tuesday, 07 February 2017 04:43 PM

We need more Saitms. Should make the university facilities available for rent to the private medical colleges.

    Kanishka Tuesday, 07 February 2017 04:45 PM

    Let them boycott for ever.

    Bala Tuesday, 07 February 2017 04:46 PM

Jealousy rules the mind - typical Sri Lankans. No wonder this confirms that hell holes in hell not are monitored only for Sri Lankans as they pull their own kind back if they try to escape.

That is nice. Now we need more private universities.

    silverline Tuesday, 07 February 2017 04:56 PM

lol good, please bunk more lectures while SAITM graduates pass their exams and get their rightful jobs.
