A total number of 56 COVID-19 positive candidates have been identified during the nine days of continuing the GCE Ordinary Level (O/L), Education Minister G.L Pieris said.
Addressing the media he said those COVID positive candidates were shifted to special examination centres.
He said special arrangements have been made in advance for such students to sit for the exam and 40 exam centres have been established throughout the country for such candidates.
Moreover, 322 candidates were sent for quarantine centres and for that the ministry had arranged additional classrooms to continue with the examination. The O/L examination will conclude on Wednesday (10). (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
