45 Colonels promoted to Brigadier

A total of 45 Colonels of the Sri Lanka Army have been promoted to the rank of Brigadier with effect from March 1 this year, military sources yesterday revealed.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa had approved the promotion to the rank of Brigadier, the sources said.

Accordingly the following officers were promoted: D C J W Jayasekera, K M R P Karunatilaka, W A N M Weerasinghe, M D P Chandrasekere,  H P N K Jayapathirane, P A D Kahapola, A I Marasinghe, D T Gamage,  J C Gamage, N S Kotuwegoda, K D C G J Thilakarathne, E N Ramanayaka, K J Jayaweera,  J Thanthiriwatta, H P P Fernando, M D Wijesundara, M M Kithsiri, W Liyanage, W S Ariyasinghe, W S Rajakaruna, A S Hewawitharana, B A L Rathnayake, R G U Rajapaksha, K Premathilake, S S Waduge, W A Ariyaratne, S P Seneviratne, P S Tillekerathna, W M J R K Senaratne, A G D N Jayasundera, R M P J Rathnayake, H D G Ranasinghe, W L P W Perera, W P A K Tilakaratne, S A D A D Gunawardane, K W R De Abrew, N I de Silva, H H A S P K Senaratne, R M Y J Rathnayake, N D S P Niwunhella, D M H D Bandara, M P Gunasinghe, S M P B Abhayarathna, A A I J Bandara and T Hathnagoda.

    I remember a time not so long ago in Ceylon , when the whole Ceylon Army had just one Brigadier commanding it.

    They are all from majority ethnic, no one from minority.
    It's means only the Sinhalese Army not the Sri Lankan Army.
