41 illegal asylum seekers nabbed

At least 41 persons were taken into police custody while waiting to flee to Australia illegally in Wennappuwa in the early hours today, police said.

The asylum seekers, who were residents of Batticaloa, Jaffna, Kilinochchi and Trincomalee, are to be produce before the Wennapuwa magistrate court today. (Hiran Priyankara Jayasinghe, Jude Samantha)

    Selling off all assets/belongings may be, as they won't need them. The question is: what drives them to such extremes? - Economic reasons is only a fraction of the bigger picture.
