Thirty four suspects, including nine women were arrested for violating quarantine rules and health regulations and for using drugs at a guest house in Madapatha, Piliyandala this morning, the Police said.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said the suspects were arrested for committing offences under the dangerous drugs ordinance.
"12 suspects were found in possession of Ice (Crystal methamphetamine), five with cannabis and one was possessing an unidentified drug.
The 12 suspects have been enlarged on bail by the Officer-In-Charge (OIC) of the police station, he said.
However, the other 22 suspects were produced before the Magistrate and four of them were remanded till April 1.
While, 18 suspects were granted bail with certain bail conditions. The guest house owner was also among the arrested and further investigations are being conducted by the Piliyandala police, DIG Rohana said.
He said according to police investigations, it was revealed that these violators had organised this party and invited others through various social media platforms.
