A total 21 petitions have been filed in the Supreme Court today against the 20th Amendment to the Constitution which was tabled in parliament by the government.
Out of the 21, two petitions have been filed by National Election Commission member Ratnajeevan Hoole and United National Party Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijewardene.
Altogether, 39 petitions have been filed against the 20A so far.

Excellent. The present leadership must understand that no one can be given absolute authority. It has to be subject to Parliamentary sanctions. Further foreign citizenship holders/ Dual citizens must NEVER be allowed to contest any election, nor should they be ever appointed to any Public Office. MM
