The police department is currently going through a massive restructuring programme to increase the capabilities and efficiency of the department. A committee on police restructuring and supervision is looking into malpractices and inefficiency at police stations and police projects.
Making surprise visits to such police stations is a part of the committee. The committee will take steps to evolve a mechanism to provide a satisfactory service to the public and also to reduce shortcomings in the police that cause hardships to the public. (Supun Dias)
Is shuffling them around going to help with the ongoing corruption?

So long the Police department is Politicized, any massive restructuring programmes are in place, it will never work. Today the public hate Police, because of their indecent behaviors & attitudes. Could u tell me how many Police staff knows how to address the public decently. very few. My idea is the IGP is wasting his time.......

Much as you say these are routine transfers, we know better. These OICs were probably doing their job well and not bowing to Politicians...hence the transfers!
