Around 2,000 PCR and Rapid Antigen tests are done on a daily basis within the Colombo Municipal limit to detect COVID-19 patients, an official said yesterday.
Chief Medical Officer of the Colombo Municipal Council Dr. Ruwan Wijeyamuni told Daily Mirror that 175-200 people test positive after testing each day, and that is the reason for high daily caseload.
He said his office had identified hotspots where people should be subjected to testing.
Six individuals have so far tested positive for COVID-19 from the Antigen tests conducted on people leaving the Western Province as of Saturday (19).
The authorities also requested people to restrict movements during the festive season and also to make sure that they were safe from the virus even if they go outside. (Sheain Fernandopulle)

Out of 2000, 175-200 positive. Others who did not test but could be still may be positive go on infecting more around them. Person who may be not positive today may de positive after another four five days time. Increase the testing to 10,000 then this could be control.
