All Post Offices and Sub Post Offices in the Kurunegala District would be closed until further notice after 14 staff members tested positive with Covid-19, Postmaster General Ranjith Ariyarathna said.
Accordingly, he said that all postal services in the Kurunegala District would be suspended.
"Fourteen staff members of the Kurunegala Divisional Post Office and the Kurunegala Main Post Office have been infected with Covid-19,” he said.
He said that some staff members have gone to other Post and Sub Post Offices for postal and medicine distribution duties.
“We have decided to suspend the operations following the instructions of the health authorities," he said.
Also, the distribution of medicine in the Kurunegala District by the Department of Posts would be temporarily suspended until further notice, he said.
