I just cannot understand how people think. The CJ was appointed by the then President MR. However, since the CJ did not bend to MR and his stooges , they brought some charges against her and the CJ was removed from office. How did MR appoint her as CJ if she or her family had committed anything that was not acceptable in the first place???? Listen to your conscious, dear Sri-lankans before writing damn reports about anything.

This is like musical chairs. One govt comes and get who they want. This is the law of Sri Lanka. Blame games are high. The present President was a part to all these, He should be answerable to every thing he complains about. History shows that those who are in power now are excused of corruption. At least you are enjoying the freedom to go about without the fear of terrorism. . A great country with good transport and a clean beautiful country.

There was no motion in parliament to impeach Chief Justice 43 Mrs Bandaranayake. The motion submitted to parliament by Rajapakse regime was something else. The then chief opposition whip brought this matter to the speaker on that day but to no avail.

MR you gave enough headaches for Madam Shirani Bandaranayake, now see Justice won... injustice (you) lost. Learn a good lesson from this Sir.
Kiris Baba amaray Wednesday, 28 January 2015 05:41 PM
UN-like the previous regime, Justice stands first, no room for culprits, hence Madam Shirani Bandaranayake came back to her seat, the whole nation will support her and the Govt. for fulfilling their promises..

Lol...so he has never also been party to the alleged coup conspiracy as "CJ"!!!! Cos he has never been a CJ in the first place...:s
dcol Wednesday, 28 January 2015 04:09 PM
Even for the wrong reasons previous Govt used the correct procedure to remove and appoint a CJ using the constitutional laws. There is a clear procedure in this country to remove a CJ if he/she is not fit to to the post. Please follow that process to ensure that people will trust the law. If we can appoint a CJ like this : by Bar association "Udgoshana" and "Tarjana" how about any other appointment in the country.A very bad example to start with
