Common opposition candidate Maithripala Sirisena said today that he would not allow international forces or the Tamil diaspora to drag incumbent President Mahinda Rajapaksa, his family or anyone in the security forces to an International War Crimes Court.
He made this pledge on behalf of the opposition at a media briefing this morning.
Mr. Sirisena also pledged to have a proper reconciliation plan to heal all divisions among various communities and to bring together all ethnic and religious groups in the country.
He appealed for a level playing field for the presidential election. (Yohan Perera and Lahiru Pothmulla)

MS is going off track, already. Tamil diaspora is not UN and UN is doing the war criminal investigation and dragging Tamils into this conflict mayboomerang with Tamil votes going against him.The first para indicates he is worried about his own position in the event he looses, as he indirectly request the ruling party for protection. He should avoid too many gaffes ontouchy subjects if he wants to win.

Not only Maithri, it is the duty of the entire nation to safeguard our war winning Mahinda Rajapakshe from the global terrorists. The whole country should unite after 9th of January to protect Mahinda after the victory of the opposition candidate.
