Yes that is is the plain truth Tamils are always considered as Second class citizens in Sri Lanka which is very unfair for which reason most of the Tamil people prefer migrating to another country.

Great leader with great courage. His position is very clear, now we want Sinhala leader who can understand this.

    wimal Sunday, 07 July 2013 01:03 PM

Thank you sir all hit boys are with us now. They govern us. One of them is a presidential adviser.

    Cobra Sunday, 07 July 2013 01:24 PM

Yes and when he opted to be a spokes person for the LTTE his name was deleted from the hit-list!!!

Chaminda Tilakumara Sunday, 07 July 2013 08:14 PM

.....and then you made a deal with the Devil, didn't you?

    nick Monday, 08 July 2013 03:59 AM

You did not support violence but you supported LTTE who is running havocs in the country. You defended them in Sri Lanka and Overseas. Now you are trying to be a hero.

    filldam Thursday, 11 July 2013 10:36 AM

At least they are not second class to "barbarians" in other countries

    DCOL Tuesday, 16 July 2013 08:22 AM

We must thank the Daily Mirror for this very informative and educative interview with R.Sampanthan MP and leader of TNA.

He has answered, clarified, explained questions put to him by the reporter on wide ranging subjects.

Sampanthan as a senior and respected leader of the Thamil people has given honest and sincere answers without prevarication, dilly dallying and beating about the bush.

Sinhalese are in a majority in the island, but Thamils and Muslims are in a majority in 2 out of the 9 provinces.

He has made it clear that a workable and durable solution to the ethnic conflict within the frame work of a united and undivided Ceylon should be found by genuine power sharing. All people must be treated equal under democracy. There must be a sense of belonging on the part of Thamils as well as Muslims.

"Mage sudu mamandita Buddhan sarane saranai" "Mage sudu benandita Dhamman Sarane Saranai"

    cw Monday, 08 July 2013 09:00 AM

Then you changed your path and the LTTE took your name off the hit list, right?

    Milland Monday, 08 July 2013 12:06 AM

What ever reason TNA is Tamil outfit, working promoting election is generally a good thing even when they produce
anti-sovereignty and divide country democratic forces we disagree with.

    shan Friday, 12 July 2013 07:33 PM

If they did you will not be here to tell the tale, as the LTTE have murdered everyone they have threatened. But Let me say the LTTE have threatened the Entire sri lanka people, every man woman and child, just visit their graves Mr.

    sarath Monday, 08 July 2013 01:24 AM

Mr Sampandan says that he was never a spokesman of the LTTE. but history says that the nomination papers for the 2004 elections were prepared by the LTTE. TNA never condoned the atrocities done by the LTTE. a body of a Tamil MP who was killed in LTTE controlled area was brought to a place where Praba attended in presence of TNA MPs was never denied. they shared the same view of LTTE then and now they share with Tamil Diaspora. we to can identify black and white easyly.
