A 48-year-old woman was killed and her 12-year-old daughter injured when they were knocked down by Kandy bound train at Pilimathalawa this morning.
They met with the tragedy when they were crossing the railway line near the Pilimathalawa Railway Station.
The injured was admitted to the Kadugannawa Divisional Hospital and later transferred to the Peradeniya Hospital. (Chamil Rupasinghe)

Feel sorry for the victims. But if the pedestrians who are not deaf and blind cannot be away from moving trains, it is 100% due to their negligence and nobody else to be blamed.
