Corporal’s Body found at Kotmale Power Plant

The body of a 41-year-old Army Lance Corporal was today found outside the Kotmale Hydroelectric Power Plant signal room where he was on duty.

Police said he was a resident of Galle and attached to the 1st Rifle Regiment of the Pallekele Army Camp in Kandy but later assigned to the 2nd Rifle Regiment of the Atabage Camp in Gampola.

The body was found by the Sargent on duty, who oversees the functioning of the signal room.

The cause of the death is still uncertain. (Suranga Rajanayake)
