Five elephants from the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage have been trained to participate in peraharas and thus make good the shortage of perahara elephants in the country.
This event was held with the participation of Sustainable Development and Wildlife Minister Gamini Jayawickrama Perera.
Those five trained elephants were today handed over to the Sri Dalada Maligawa for the Perahara.
