He should read constitution. Article 4c is states judicial power of 'people' not 'parliament'. If PSC has not found CJ guilty where do they prove charges? Can charges be proved through a vote among polically affiliated members of parliament? If MPs are jury who are judge and 2 parties?Remember CJ could be removed only on proved misbehaviour and incapacity. Somewhere charges have to be proved.

The interviewer failed to fire this very pertinent question which is the core issue. We would like to have Dy Speaker's answer to this.

Let us get the basics right. What the PSC is supposed to do is to conduct an investigation to ascertain facts on the subjejct and make a report to the Parliament . Thereupon, Parliament decides if the issue should be proceeded with and pass a resolution for impeachment of the CJ. Theoretically, the Parliament can disregard or ignore the PSC report and in such an event the issue will come to a conclusion for all intents and purposes. The essential point to note is that it is the Parliament that enjoys the constiltutional autholrity to make the decision as to whether there are enough valid and reasonablel grounds to find the CJ guilty.

Well said Dep Speaker. Most lawyers who are supporting CJ are only doing so to keep their cases dragged on for ever for their own private benifits and to utter disdain of the litigants. We must congrtulate the PSC for completing the investigations with in 1 month. The legal community without critizising that must take a que and handle other cases too expeditiously.

This man knows what is right and wrong.Any idiot can see through that.He is just playing his game for his survival which is unfortunate. When the parliament is full of goons who are willing to lick the boots of Mara it is very difficult for a decent politician to stand by his conscious. He is a victim of Mara nepotism as well and we can only sympathies you deputy speaker.

It appears some people use this column to express their hatred towards the Rajapakses. The very same people tried to play the same game during the last prez election. They don't want anything else but criticise the Rajapakses. Look at what they say, nothing constructive.

Where did he get his legal qualification from? Geez 'Judicial Power of Parliament'... I think he forgot that our system is based on supremacy of the constitution and not Parliament...Pfft
