The Human Elephant conflict has plagued the minds of conservationists and environmental activists in Sri Lanka for over 60 years now. From the beginning of development activities the Elephas Maximus Maximus or as it is more commonly known the Sri Lankan elephant has been deprived of its habitat.
Today in loafer’s diary, we travel towards the north of Colombo to explore Sri Lanka’s ‘Little Rome.’ Located 7 km from the Bandaranayke International Airport, Negombo is famous for its beach, crafts and is a hotspot with tourists. It also houses the second largest fish market in the country.
Pettah is the heart of Colombo. The many streets in the old town pump life into it and make it the most liveliest town in the country. The streets crisscross like the veins of a heart and generate income to thousands.
