The Global Meetings Industry Day was celebrated on the 6 of April all over the world.
Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB) also joined the celebrations by organizing educational programmes to the local industry in line with this year’s theme “Meetings mean business” in collaboration with SLAPCEO.
The keynote speaker at the event was Noor Ahmad Hamid, Regional Director of International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA )– Asia Pacific. Charitha Bandara -Deputy National President of Junior Chamber International Sri Lanka also spoke on ‘Events - Undiscovered Service Experience in
Sri Lanka’.
Sri Lanka has been doing well in promoting Association’s meetings in the past and the PATA Annual Summit 2017 will be hosted in Sri Lanka next month which will be attended by nearly 200 overseas travel and tourism professionals from the Asia Pacific region. SLCB is also working on hosting more travel agents association meetings in Sri Lanka in future i.e. the Annual Convention of German Travel Agents Association and the Annual Convention of Spanish Travel Agents Association to name a few.
