UNHRC resolution on SL adopted without a vote

The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) resolution on Sri Lanka, that gives two more years to fully implement the Resolution 30/1, was adopted at the Human Rights Council in Geneva without a vote today.

The Resolution which was co-sponsored by Sri Lanka with several more countries was presented by core groups on Sri Lanka.

The resolution is on promoting reconciliation, accountability and human rights in Sri Lanka.

    This deposition should have been given during the 2018 UNHRC resolution discussions, nevertheless it is better now that we have a firm timeline and sri lanka cannot play the same set of joker cards when the strict sanctions are on the horizon.

    Excellent move. Making this issue non voteable will not leave any room for SL to talk humbug on delays in implementation next time.

    Sure, go ahead !! UNHRC , the UN agency don't have any powers to take SL or any military personnel to The Hauge !!!???
