Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MPs appear to have mixed feelings on the election of Ruwan Wijewardene as the Deputy Leader of United National Party (UNP).
SJB MP J. C. Alawatuwala, when asked for his views on the appointment of the UNP's new deputy leader told a news conference said his party was not too concerned about the UNP because the people have chosen his party as the main opposition in Parliament.
“The people have given a clear verdict by electing more than 50 MPs from out party to Parliament while not electing a single UNPer at the recently-held general elections,” he said.
Meanwhile, SJB MP Harsha de Silva said he hoped it would be possible to have a meaningful discussion with Mr. Wijewardene on how to move forward as an alliance.
“I wish Mr. Wijewardene the best of luck and hope we can discuss how to move forward as an alliance," he told Daily Mirror. (Yohan Perera)

Both these two SJB MPs do not deserve to be MPs. Both have no clue of ground level politics.

Yes, both of them are not crooks or thugs having no cases against them. Therefore, they aren't eligible to be elected. Too decent tone in the parliament I suppose.

how are they get elected if they do not know ground-level politics?

Fully agree with Harsha Dr Silva's comment. Further, since now that SJ B has been recognized to represent the Parliament with not a single UNPer in sight, SJB should not bother about the impotent UNP and go after it.
