The motive behind the killing of the owner of a textile shop – millionaire Larick Rajapaksa (43) has been revealed as a dispute following a woman being videoed while she was in the fit- on room in the shop by the Close Circuit TV camera, Police said.

This businessman was killed last Friday.

Police said they had discovered two swords believed to have been used and a slipper apparently of a suspect. With the help of these clues the police was able to reveal the motive behind the killing.

According to the police images of a sister of the main suspect was captured by a CCTV camera while she was in a fit-on room in the shop.  Subsequently the owner of the shop blackmailed the woman and believed to have allegedly raped her.  He has also let her for the indecent harassment of another person.

The woman who is married has been suffering with much mental agony and worries after the incident and later revealed everything to his brother. He had gone to the textile shop with another person and allegedly hacked the owner of the shop to death according to the police.

The police are also on the look out for the other person who had molested the woman.  The suspects were absconding. Police said the main suspect had been involved in several crimes.(Deepa Adikari)

they look at it as Islamic Law but doesn't see the justice in that. Any way there is a issue about how Saudi implement it.

he was faced with a terrible situation. as much as we might empathise with him, and i do not know what i wud have done in the same situ, no. he should not have taken the law into his own hands.. if everyone decided to follow his example, it would amount to might=right, and the poor and powerless being downtrodden. if there's a problem with the justice system fix that, don't make things worse.

CCTV should be banned from fit on rooms. The intention may be to stop theft. The way to do it is only allow a specific number of items (e.g. three dresses) to be taken to a fit on room per person, at a given time. The misuse of CCTV cannot be stopped otherwise.

And even if it was taken to court what would be the highest punishment will be given? If this is Saudi you can expect capital punishment but this is Sri Lanka.

Why is everyone jumping to conclusions? One party is dead so he cannot talk. How do we know what the truth it till the perpetrators are arrested and interrogated. This is one side of the story. In any case in a civilized society one cannot be the the JUDGE, JURY & EXECUTIONER. That is the law of the jungle.

This is what happens when people lose faith sin the police and the judiciary. They take matters to the hand and act. This will lead to anarchy. Currently all big shots, from ministers, to Bank governors to department heads, police big shots, big businessmen and any powerful person, escape punishment doing any wrong. The small fry in the street has now no faith that justice will be done. So here we are leading the country to anarchy. The politicians of current and recent past governments are answerable to this state of affiars.

And after a couple of years have passed and this guy is all alone in his home cos he has no money anymore, gone to his house and broken his manhood. Hehehe.. I would've done this so much differently, but I don't blame the brother for what he did..
