Action from the match between St. Joseph’s and St. Henry’s

St. Peter’s College, Bambalapitiya and St. Joseph’s College, Colombo reached the semi-finals of the Papare Under-20 Inter-Schools Football Tournament by recording convincing victories in their respective quarter-finals worked off at the Beddagana Football Complex.
St. Peter’s defeated Jaffna Central College 6-4 while St. Joseph’s had the better of St. Henry’s College, Jaffna 4-1.
Shabeer Razooniya (3), Mohamed Zaid (2) and Areeb Hussain (1) scored for St. Peter’s while R. Vinthujan (2), V. Viknesh (1) and K. Jesuraj (1) did the scoring for Jaffna Central. Meanwhile, Shenal Sandesh once again led St. Joseph’s to victory by scoring three goals while Milinda Bimsara scored a solitary goal.
In the third quarter-final, Zahira College, Colombo defeated De Mazenod College 3-0 at the Kelaniya Football Complex after leading 2-0 at half time.
Shareeq Ahmed, Mohamed Aakib and Mohamed Mushfir scored a goal each for the winners.
In the last quarter-final, St. Patrick’s College, Jaffna emerged victorious against Al Aqsa National School, Kinniya 3-0.
A. Sharon netter the first two goals while N. Baviraj scored the third goal for the winners.
