The second-round matches of the Inter-Schools Under-19 League Rugby Tournament which was postponed due to unavoidable circumstances will recommence from May 31.
The decision was taken today (24) by the Minister of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam and the Minister of Sports Harin Fernando following a meeting with the officials of the respective schools participating in the tournament.
As a result, the schools will have the opportunity of conducting the second-round matches at their own grounds.
Earlier, the Minister of Sports had offered the Sugathadasa Stadium as a neutral venue to conduct all tournament fixtures.
It was also decided that if security is essential it would be provided which was assured by the two Ministers who will make arrangements if the need arises.
In addition, the Sugathadasa Stadium would be provided for the schools in Kandy if they are unable to host their home matchers due to lack of grounds.
