The All-Island Schools Relay Championship conducted by the Ministry of Education is scheduled to be worked off from tomorrow at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo.
The meet which was originally slotted to be worked off at the Welagedera Stadium in Kurunegala was shifted due to the inclement weather prevailing in the island.
Over 7,500 athletes (Boys’ and Girls’) will vie for honours in the age groups of Under-12, Under-14, Under-16, Under-18 and Under-20 during this three-day meet.
Meanwhile, tefending champions St. Peter’s College, Bambalapitiya and A. Ratnayake MMV, Walala will be hoping to retain the Boys’ and Girls’ titles respectively.
In fact, last year A. Ratnayake MMV also came on top in the Mixed Schools’ category for the second successive year and will be aiming to make it three-in-a-row.
