Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa is set to give the green light to a number of sports including schools cricket to resume within the next few weeks.
“Most of the sports could start in a few weeks under the medical guidelines which have been issued by the Ministry of Health,” Rajapaksa told Daily Mirror in an interview on Wednesday.
The former Sri Lanka rugby captain however claimed that it would at least take a couple of months for the contact sports including rugby to start.
“The possibility of starting rugby is under review and probably in two months time we would be able to start, but even now the players and clubs could carry out gym sessions and fitness activities under the health guidelines,” the former Thomian said.
