the R. Premadasa Stadium
By BIPIN DANI
The International Venue and Facilities Manager of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Godfrey Dabarera is a busy man now as he is working hard to get all international grounds ready for the upcoming fixtures.
“We are keeping all international grounds ready for any kind of matches - be it internationals or domestic tournaments,” he said yesterday.
There has been no clarity yet on India and Bangladesh’s proposed tours of Sri Lanka in July and August but that has not dented the working of Dabarera.
“We are working at all venues simultaneously and keeping grounds, wickets and stadiums ready with all necessary requirements.”
However, the 56-year-old Dabarera is facing few difficulties in completing his task due to the current Coronavirus pandemic.
“We are facing problems in preparing the grounds due to the lack of manpower. During the last two months I have visited Galle, Hambantota Pallekele, Dambulla and the R. Premadasa Stadium,” he concluded.
