A fine all-round performance by Navod Paranavithana helped Sri Lanka record a convincing 77-run win over England in the Under-19 Tri-Nation Cricket Tournament final played in Antigua, West Indies on Saturday.

It was sweet revenge for Sri Lanka Under-19 who went into the final having suffered two successive defeats to their opponents within four days.
Navod shone with a fine match winning knock of 108 in 119 balls that included 14 boundaries and was involved in two fruitful partnerships after Sri Lanka Under-19 Skipper Nipun Dananjaya had won the toss and elected to take first lease of the wicket.

He figured in an opening stand of 124 runs along with Kamil Mishara who made a 84-ball 69 inclusive of seven boundaries and a six.
This was followed by a second-wicket stand of 65 runs with Ravindu Rasantha as Sri Lanka Under-19 posted a formidable 265 in their allotted 50 overs.
England Under-19 in their run chase suffered an early setback when they lost their openers with the score at 10. 

However, Jordan Cox (77) along with Jack Haynes came to the rescue with a 64-run stand for the third wicket.

Cox also put on 69 runs for the fifth wicket with Lewis Goldsworthy as England Under-19 reached 146 for five by the 38th over.
But Cox’s dismissal at 164 almost hit the nail in the coffin for England Under-19 as they bowled out for 188 in the 44th over.
