Snooker Nationals from next month

The 67th National Snooker Championships conducted by the Billiards and Snooker Association of Sri Lanka will be held next month in Colombo.

The tournament will be played for the U. W. Sumathipala Memorial Trophy which is presented by the Sumathi Group of Companies who are the sponsors of the event.

Prior to the National Snooker Championships, qualifying tournaments will be held in Colombo, Galle and Kandy followed by the All-Island Lanka Plate Snooker Championship.

Meanwhile, the Colombo District segment is scheduled to get underway today at the Moors Sports Club Billiards Table. 

The preliminary round and the pre quarter-final matches will be played over three frames which are scheduled to end on August 5. 

The quarter-finals are scheduled to be played on August 6 and 7 over five frames.

The semi-finals will be played on August 7 over seven frames and the final is scheduled to be played on August 8 over nine frames in two sessions.
