Samaraweera to assist NZ in SL

Former Sri Lankan batsman Thilan Samaraweera will be the Batting Consultant for the visiting New Zealand Team during the upcoming two-Test series.

This was revealed yesterday by the New Zealand Head Coach Gary Stead.

The Coach said: “Peter Fulton (23 Tests, 49 ODIs and 12 T20Is) will be the Batting Coach however Samaraweera will also assist the team”.

“Samaraweera’s services have been hired for only the two Test matches,” Stead further added.

New Zealand are scheduled to play two Tests, and three T20I matches against Sri Lanka during this tour.

Earlier, Samaraweera had worked with the Sri Lankan and Bangladesh Teams in the past and returned to Australia a month ago.
