Praveen guides Gurukula MV to victory

Left-arm pacie Praveen Nimesh took career best bowling figures of 9 for 13, which incidentally is the best bowling returns of the ongoing Under 19 inter-school cricket tournament, laying the foundation for Gurukula MV Kelaniya to outclass St. Servatius College Matara by an innings and 21 runs in the match concluded at Uyanwatte Stadium in Matara yesterday.  


The second day’s play saw St. Servatius in reply to Gurukula MV’s score of 160 being wrecked by Nimesh as they succumbed to a low score of just 27 runs.  


St. Servatius made to follow on with a deficit of 133 runs to erase fared better but were unable to prevent their opponents from recording an easy innings win as they were bowled out for 112 runs,
