High office, but no work!

There are still about seven top team members who continue to hog their portfolios showing no sign of preparedness to delegate the due share of subjects to their state-level purohitas.

Five to six State purohitas disappointed that their top team members continue to hog not only all the subjects but also official vehicles and office accommodation assigned to the respective Ministries had reportedly held a powwow at a high-end hotel in the city.

At this powwow, they had tentatively decided to quit office if the top team members in question continued to deny them their due share of subjects. They are to meet shortly again to take a final decision on the issue.

Even some other State purohitas who are whiling away time due to subjects not being assigned to them, too have gone into a sulk over this injustice. Among them are two Diyawanna politicos who had openly bragged before the big poll that they would get key portfolios at top team level once their candidate was elected. One of them from the Kandy district had bragged that he would get the Foreign Affairs and the other from Kalutara that he would get the Ports.

According to knowledgeable sources, there are strong reasons for denying the duo from Kandy and Kalutara places at the top table and these reasons remain valid for the future as well.
