How they observe the Hippocratic oath!

The Hippocratic oath-takers at this state lodge are expected to do an eight-hour duty turn, but most of them are in the habit of leaving the lodge for private practice after working there for about two hours, they say.

Despite limiting their daily duty shift to about two hours a day, they would make it a point to claim overtime for four-hours a day, sources say.

If a lodge mate falls sick in the absence of a medico, a minor employee would give him some medicine to tide over the situation.

In emergencies, the medico on duty has to be summoned by a phone call.

The recalcitrant Hippocratic oath-takers, buddies of high political authority, happily carry on this ‘game’ regardless and no action is taken against them even if complaints are made, they say.
